Muntu Meets Nkumba university FDC cadres

The Nkumba university Forum for democratic Change (FDC) students union members met their president Maj.Gen Mugish Muntu alongside the FDC national youth league moblizer on the 24 April,2014 at campus after the public dialogue on the electoral reforms.
The meeting sparked off at 5:45pm in TS2 was chaired by Mwebaze Isaac the outgoing union speaker. At the same occasion, the new elected leaders took the oath of allegiance the presence of their party president.
After the swearing in ceremony, Mugisha Muntu also the former army commander gave a speech in which he congratulated the guild president elect Byarugaba Julius upon his success in the guild race and for representing the party flag. He also thanked the executive committee for ensuring effective leadership which took on the guild top job. “I‘m happy and commend you for the work you’ve done to bring FDC to the Apex of students leadership of this institution.”Muntu said.
Many other issues were discussed including laying strategies and structures to bring the party ideas to everyone.

Mr. Muntu further tasked the young FDC carders to be confident and have hope that they would take on the national leadership by all means as long as they worked together in unity and peacefully. “Please members I implore you to sacrifice yourselves and believe in the future which is bright for us. Leadership takes persistence and sacrifice.” Muntu advised.
The engagement with the president was so warm that the party registered a handful of new members crossing to FDC and denouncing their former parties and it went on till 7:30pm when it was closed with the party Prayer.

Byensi Takes On FDC Presidency Of Nkumba university

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) students union of Nkumba university chapter carried out general elections for the new committee which will oversee the party activities. The elections which were held on the 23rd April in TS1 saw Byensi Henry become the new president replacing Tumusiime Brian after defeating Ronald Kwasibwe, Bachelor of International Relations and Diplomacy with a landslide.
The motor mouthed Byensi Henry also known as peace maker- political motomoto is second year law student. He came to limelight last year during the FDC dialogues and most of his revelations were seen during the past guild campaigns as most people termed him as Byarugaba’s mouth piece. The 23 years old FDC die-hard went through Jinja College Secondary School for his high school. The voting also saw karamuzi Gerald (LLB1) as the incoming General Secretary.

 

other leaders were elected in various positions including moblizers. The elections were over seen by the outgoing chair Tumusime Brian , Byarugaba Julius and others out going executive committee officials. The new leaders will hold office for the period of one year. The election process was by show of hands.
